The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Friday’s Streaking And Slumping Starting Pitchers
By Covers Staff

Streaking

Jamie Moyer (9-6, 4.30 ERA), Philadelphia Phillies

When will Moyer stop being an active starting hurler in the bigs? It doesn’t look like it’s going to be any time soon. The 47-year-old lefty has been masterful in his last three starts going 3-0 with 1.96 ERA and a 17-2 strikeout to walk ratio.

“His longevity is absolutely remarkable,” Phillies manager Charlie Manuel told the Associated Press after Moyer held the Blue Jays to just two runs over seven innings in his last start. “What impresses me is his command. He says if he puts the ball where he wants to go, he can get people out.”

Josh Johnson (8-3, 1.83 ERA), Florida Marlins

Johnson is a frequent visitor to the streaking club this season. The Marlins big righty consistently frustrates opponents and puts a smile on the faces of his backers.

He hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of his last nine outings and he’s pitched in seven or more innings in eight of those nine starts. Oddsmakers don’t let bettors back Johnson cheaply and the Fish are just 3-3 in his last six trips to the mound.

The best course of action is probably playing the total. The under is 6-0 in his last six appearances.

Slumping

Brett Cecil (7-5, 4.39 ERA), Toronto Blue Jays

You can count Cecil as one of the reasons why the Blue Jays have been playing so poorly lately. The southpaw hurler is 0-3 with a 9.20 ERA in his last three starts. Not surprisingly, the over is also a perfect 3-0 in those three games.

“I’m unbelievably frustrated, obviously,” Cecil told the National Post following his latest setback. "The ball just keeps drifting up a little bit, so I’ve got to stay through it and keep pitching.”

A.J. Burnett (6-7, 5.25 ERA), New York Yankees

This hard-throwing righty would be worrying about his spot in the rotation if the Yanks actually had someone capable of taking it. Burnett has delivered just two quality starts since May 9.

Even worse, Burnett finished June with an 11.35 ERA – the highest ERA ever in one month by a Yankees hurler.

"I've been saying all along that he is going to get out of this and he will," New York manager Joe Girardi told reporters after Burnett’s flameout against the Dodgers. "Every great player has been through slumps. I think struggles with pitchers always start with command. Anyone who can command the baseball can have success."

The Bronx Bombers are hopeful Burnett will get his head back on straight now that pitching coach Dave Eiland has rejoined the club following a three-week absence.

HOT LINES

Friday's Best MLB Bets

Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks (-110, 9.5)

After being left out of the starting lineup for three straight games to start this week, Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp wanted to know what was up. He requested a meeting with manager Joe Torre on Tuesday.

"I get the chance to write the lineup every day and I put in who I put in," Torre said after the meeting. "It's been frustrating for him, we all see that, and hopefully these days will give him a chance to breathe a bit. It just looks like he's frustrated."

Kemp must have channeled some of that frustration into offense. After replacing Manny Ramirez, during Tuesday’s game, Kemp collected five hits, three RBIs and a homer over his next eight at-bats.

Another Dodger who seems to be playing with some motivation after going on bereavement leave with the untimely death of his father is Rafael Furcal. L.A.’s shortstop has at least two hits in five straight games and went 4-for-5 with a home run in Wednesday’s win over the Giants.

"He makes us that much more exciting," Torre said of Furcal. "He can do a lot of things and not only with a bat in his hands. He elevates us with the way he plays the game."

The Diamondbacks have dropped seven straight against the Dodgers and failed to score in the last 31 innings of a three-game set while getting swept in L.A. Look for Los Angeles to extend its winning streak Friday.

Pick: LA Dodgers

Chicago White Sox at Texas Rangers (-185, 9.5)

In case you hadn’t noticed, the Rangers are absolutely tearing the ball off the cover. Texas’ offense has averaged 6.7 runs per game over its last 10, scoring no fewer than four runs during the stretch and compiling a 7-3 over/under record.

There really is no break for a pitcher in the Rangers lineup until you get to the bottom of the order, but now that has changed.

With expected catchers Taylor Teagarden and Jarrod Saltalamacchia struggling in the minors, Texas has been forced to use Matt Treanor (.237 23 RBIs) and Max Ramirez (.217 8 RBIs) behind the dish. But that changed when the club acquired Bengie Molina in a trade with the Giants Wednesday night.

Molina was struggling this season in San Francisco but brings a career .275 average to Arlington and the presence of additional power. Big Money blasted a career-high 20 bombs in 2009 and joins his good friend, Vladimir Guerrero, in a lineup that will be among the best in baseball.

Look for some early fireworks in the Lone Star State on Friday as the Rangers welcome their newest backstop.

Pick: Over

SOCCER NEWS AND NOTES
Ghana vs. Uruguay: Odds And Match Analysis
By Larry O'Connor

Ghana (+170) vs. Uruguay (-181, 2)

At tournament start, both sides would have been tickled to make the quarterfinal round. In doing so, though, Ghana and Uruguay are especially giddy about having avoided big guns -- Brazil, Spain, Argentina and Germany -- in the final eight.

With passage to the semis at stake, these two longshots will cast away any inhibitions and play to their strengths.

For Uruguay, that means relying on the scintillating form of its two strikers Luis Suarez (three goals) and Diego Forlan (two goals), and a rock-steady backline that has conceded only one goal in four matches.

The Black Stars are inspired by the prospect of being the first-ever African nation to advance to a World Cup semifinal, which has striker Asamoah Gyan (three goals) vowing to play over an ankle injury sustained in the extra-time Round of 16 victory over the United States.

"Uruguay are a difficult side but we don't care who we are going to play," Gyan told FIFA.com. "We are ready to play against anybody."

Chalk Talk

Uruguay's reputation as a stout defending side has only been reinforced as the team posted clean sheets in all three group play matches against France, Mexico and South Africa. South Korea nicked La Celeste for a goal in the thrilling 2-1 Round of 16 encounter.

Such celebrated austerity makes the loss of starting defender Diego Godin (thigh) disconcerting. Mauricio Victorino, who subbed for Godin at half time in the Round of 16 victory over South Korea, is expected to get the nod on Friday.

Otherwise manager Oscar Tabarez has a full contingent, which is more than his counterpart can say.

Ghana's coach Milovan Rajevac has Kevin-Prince Boateng (hamstring) and Gyan (ankle) battling to be fit while defender Jonathan Mensah and midfielder Andre Ayew are definitely out due to yellow card accumulation. Inter Milan's Sulley Muntaro, who's been in Rajevac's crosshairs and was dropped for the African Cup of Nations, may start in Ayew's place.

Rajevac reportedly won't change tactics to deal with the Los Charruas' three-prong attack with Palermo poacher Edinson Cavani linking up with Suarez and Forlan upfront. The Black Stars mentor is banking on the side's boundless youth and skill, which have only flourished under the glare of the world spotlight.

Players To Watch

Uruguay - Diego Forlan

The prodigious poacher netted a pair in the 3-0 victory over South Africa early in group play before ceding to Suarez, who has eclipsed him with three goals. At age 31, the Atletico Madrid striker is poised to make a grand statement to solidify his ranking as one of the game's most deadly finishers.

Ghana - John Mensah

The well-traveled fullback and captain will be relied upon to stabilize the Black Stars' backline as it tries to cope with Uruguay's unrelenting trilaterial attack. With a back ailment that has kept him out of training, Mensha is also part of the team's growing list of walking wounded.

On the pitch, the team's youthful stars will likely take their cue from the composed 27-year-old Sunderland defender in thwarting the opposition's attack.

Weather/Pitch

Temps in Johannesburg are expected to dip into the 30s Fahrenheit with a slight chance of rain, which will give an edge to the Uruguayans who are used to bracing conditions. The pitch at the tournament's showcase venue, Soccer City Stadium, should be firm.

Years Ending In Zero

Uruguay hoisted the World Cup trophy twice -- in 1930 and 1950 -- and made it to the semifinals before losing to Brazil 3-1 in 1970. In Italy 20 years later, the South American squad was derailed 2-0 by the host nation in the Round of 16. Meanwhile, this is Ghana's second World Cup run as the team advanced to the Round of 16 in 2006.

Odds And Sods

Despite their tough tackling rep, Uruguay have accumulated a modest three yellow cards in four matches. Only Spain, with a mere one, has fewer. ... Two of three of Gyan's team-leading tallies have come on penalty kicks. His only goal from the run of play came on his deadly strike three minutes into extra time in the victory over the U.S. .... Ghana are the only runner-up in group play to advance to the quarterfinals.

PICKS AND KICKS

Friday's Best World Cup Bets

Brazil (-102) vs. Netherlands (+349, 2.5)

This is the quarterfinal matchup footy fans have been waiting for since the World Cup draw was first announced, and rightfully so. Few nations can make kicking a ball look as beautiful as the Brazilians or Dutch.

Brazil has been criticized for not playing with the same type of flash it has in years past but spectators have still witnessed the five-time champions score multiple times in all but one of their four matches in the tournament.

Going against a quick-striking team like the Oranje, Brazil may play closer to the style preferred by conservative manager Dunga. Expect Brazil to play with much more restraint, particularly if they score the match’s first goal.

Pick: Under

Uruguay (+112) vs. Ghana (+320, 2)

No African team has ever advanced to a World Cup semifinal. Can Ghana be the first to break through in the first World Cup held on African soil?

We don’t think so. Sure, the crowd will undoubtedly be behind the Black Stars, but does that even make a difference with all those vuvuzela horns blasting?

Ghana were beyond lucky to make it this far without Michael Essien but without star striker Asamoah Gyan fully fit, the crowd favorites don’t have a chance against Diego Forlan and Company.

Pick: Uruguay

AFL NEWS AND NOTES
Arena Football League On NFL Network: Rush At Storm
By Scott Cooley

Chicago Rush at Tampa Bay Storm (-5, 108)

Fourth of July fireworks will come early for arena football’s faction of followers. Friday night’s NFL Network game of the week showcases two of the top three teams in the league as the Chicago Rush (9-3 SU, 7-5 ATS) take on the Tampa Bay Storm (8-3 SU, 5-6 ATS).

Covers Expert Ted Sevransky said earlier this season that there are two head coaches he trusts in the AFL, one is Tim Marcum and the other Mike Hohensee – the pair will square off Friday.

"This team coming in (town) is for real," Marcum said. "They have nine wins for a reason."

What Have You Done For Me Lately?

These are two of the hottest teams in league with Chicago entering the game on a three-game winning streak while the Storm have reeled off six consecutive victories.

Both teams have been profitable to bettors as well. The Rush are 3-0 ATS during their streak and 5-1 ATS in their last six games. Tampa is also 3-0 against the number in its last three games and 4-2 ATS inside the team’s six-game run.

The Storm started the season flat-footed, dropping three of their first five games. But the defense has discovered itself (more on that below) and Tampa has outscored opponents by a 14.7 ppg margin over the last six, including a 39-point trouncing of Bossier last week.

“Marcum’s teams tend to get better as the season progresses,” said Sevransky. “If they aren’t good in April, they certainly have it going by July.”

But Tampa’s win streak could be a bit deceiving. Only one of the five teams (played Bossier twice) the Storm defeated over the six-game stretch holds a winning record. Chicago will be a true measuring block for Tampa, evidenced by the tighter line, after the team incurred spreads of 17 points or more the last two games.

UFL Thwarts AFL

Two weeks ago, key players for the Chicago Rush were forced to miss a game because they were under contract of the United Football League. Quarterback Russ Michna, who leads the league in passing efficiency, and No. 1 wide receiver Sammie Parker were required to attend a mini-camp with the Las Vegas Locomotives.

Chicago opened as a 1-point home underdog in that game versus the Milwaukee Iron but as news broadened about the absence of Michna and Parker the spread moved to 9 points by kickoff.

Assembling a makeshift lineup where some players didn’t even practice with the team that week, Hohensee willed his squad to achieve the impossible by knocking off Milwaukee 63-56.

“There is no doubt tonight was one of the most rewarding victories in my coaching career,” Hohensee said after the game. “I’ve been saying all season that we have a special group of players here this year, and tonight’s performance should show everybody just what I’ve been talking about.”

Both Michna and Parker returned to the team for last week’s victory over Orlando, but it appeared Chicago’s signal caller was off after practicing on the larger, outdoor field the weekend prior. Michna struggled to find a rhythm through most of the first three quarters, finishing the night by completing 22-of-35 passes for 231 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.

But the Rush’s setbacks at the hands of the UFL haven’t stopped. Parker left the team for good this week to join the Locomotives in preparation for the start of their season, which begins in August. Parker leaves Chicago as the team’s leading receiver with 69 receptions for 1,040 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Defensive Driving

The success of these teams over the last month can directly be linked to their defensive effort. The Storm boast the top-ranked defense in the AFL, holding opponents to an average of 51.4 points per game while Chicago ranks third in the league at 52.4 ppg.

The Rush secondary, which has consisted of the same three players all season, leads the league in interceptions (23) and is second in passing defense efficiency. Chicago’s rushing front four ranks fourth in sacks with 26.

Chicago is coming off a stellar defensive performance in a 55-42 win over Orlando. The Rush forced four turnovers and the 42 points were the fewest allowed by the team this year.

But as good as Chicago’s defense has been; Tampa’s veteran unit is performing better than any right now.

After allowing 60.8 ppg through the first four weeks of the season, the Storm have held opponents to 46.0 points per contest over the last seven games. Tampa held the opposition to 50 points or fewer in six of those seven outings and Marcum’s squad is 5-1 this season and 140-41 all time when accomplishing that feat.

Last Friday versus Bossier, the Storm supplied constant pressure on a rookie quarterback, forcing him into three interceptions and two fumbles. The veteran defensive line was led by Jermaine Smith who recorded 3.0 sacks, 11 quarterback pressures and a pair of forced fumbles.

"These guys are 30 and above and they're playing against a bunch of 24- to 26-year-old boys and they're wearing them out,” said assistant head coach Dave Ewart. “These are guys that have been doing this a long time. The good thing about this team is every player has their mind on one thing and that's winning a championship."

Infirmary Report

Tampa Bay’s third-leading receiver, DeAndrew Rubin, will miss this week’s game after pulling a hamstring Friday. Rubin caught a touchdown in that game and has 42 receptions for 684 yards and 17 scores on the year. Veteran Sedrick Robinson will start in his place.

Parker’s exodus to the UFL leaves Chicago very thin at the wide receiver position. The team’s No. 2 and 3 receivers, Kenny Higgins and Nicheron Flowers, are still on injured reserve and Chicago’s fourth option sustained an ankle injury last week but is expected to be available.

That leaves the Rush with two inexperienced wideouts who were signed to the team on June 17. Syvelle Newton and Marco Thomas were active for that week’s game but neither played last Saturday. Expect to see linebacker DeJuan Alfonzo play both ways this week and assist the other three in the receiving corps.

Notes And Trends

- Chicago will arrive in Tampa by plane on Thursday at midnight.

- Tampa Bay is the most penalized team in the league, yielding 78.4 yards per game in yellow flags.

- The Rush are 5-1 SU and ATS on the road in 2010.

- The Storm are 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS at home this season.

- Chicago leads the all-time series against the Storm 2-1, winning the two most recent games (2008, 2004) by scores of 51-46 and 51-36.

- The head-to-head coaching record for this matchup is even a four games apiece.

- Tampa ranks fourth in total offense (324.5) while the Rush rank 10th (297.3).

- The Rush have allowed 10 sacks this season compared to Tampa Bay’s five.

- The Storm have accounted for 18 sacks while Chicago has registered 16.

CFL ODDS AND PICKS
CFL Week 1 Odds And Picks
By Charles Andre' Marchand

Friday July 2

Hamilton Tiger Cats (-3) at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

There’s hope again in Hamilton since veteran QB Kevin Glenn took over for struggling sophomore Quinton Porter. The Tiger Cats now have an improved offensive line that should provide the necessary protection for Glenn to throw effectively to Arland Bruce III, Marquay McDaniel and Dave Stala.

The defense is improved with the additions of Jason Shivers and Jerome Dennis, joining sophomore Dylan Barker who showed great things in his rookie season. With Otis Floyd, Jamall Johnson and Markeith Knowlton, the Tiger Cats also boast maybe the best linebacker set in the CFL.

Under new coach Paul LaPolice and with Buck Pierce under center, there are also reasons to hope for the Blue Bombers fans. But Pierce is injury-prone and Steven Jyles might not be ready to take over on a regular basis, at least not yet.

Pick: Hamilton Tiger Cats

dime bet 913 LOS (-112) BetUS vs 914 ARI
Analysis:

LA Dodgers -110

Cheap number for the better team who is finding some serious offense. The absolutely pummeled the D Backs last time they played them in a series sweep and more or less have their number. I look for teams who get out of the gate early on in series, and out of the last 13 weeks, LA has opened with a win 9 times, and Joe Torre always likes to get a leg up in series games, he always has. LA is a DOMINATE 24-8 in the last 32 meetings, and Arizona just lays down as a dog, they have only won 15 games as an underdog in their last 54 attempts. Should be higher scoring game here, but LA has the hotter bats and Kuroda, their starter tonight has given up less than a hit per inning in his last 3 starts.
